Unverifiable: ---------------- The record set for a two horse team is 52 tonne. This was set by 2 clydsdales pulling a sled with logs on it across snow. Verifiable: -…------------ However since 52 tonne's is equal to about 104,000 lbs this record is questionable. In the sport of horsepulling in which horses pull against a dynometer more recent verifiable records have teams of two horses pulling around 5,000 lbs. Common Motivational Story: ----------------------------------- There is a common motivational story which is used to outline what can be accomplished by teamwork. The anecdote goes something along the lines of: "One horse can pull a ton, but when you have two horses they can pull 27 tons." No evidence has been shown to verify this motivation story.
Typically, draft horses can pull about 6 times their own bodyweight. A draft can pull a lot more than an Arab.
I have heard that (draft) horses can pull about 6 times their own body weight.. Clidesdales . I hear that there are these horses that are called clydesdales that are extre…mely stong too. They are the ones with all that fur around their hooves. Thanks wiki, for yes, a clydesdale is a draft horse.
Each draft horse can pull about 5,000 lbs so a team of four could pull about 20,000 lbs.
Three times it's own weight, Which is around 2000-2400 lbs
Most horses can pull their own body weight. Miniatures can pull 300-400 pounds while weighing only 150-250 pounds on average. A draft horse can typically pull twice it's weigh…t, so a 2,000 pound draft could pull 4,000 without much of a problem.
Horses can pull up to four times their weight and the average horseweighs 550 kilograms (1210 pounds) so that would equal to about2200 kilograms (4840 pounds).
Exactly? A very fit Shire, Clysedale, or Suffolk punch. ( sorry bout the spelling of clysedale :s)
The weight a horse or team of horses can pull depends largely ontheir build. A team of 2 Shires can easily pull more than threetimes their individual weight.
depends on the horses. breed, height, weight, muscle, etc. but it's a lot.
Well this will depend mainly on the horse, but as a general rule nearly all horses can pull their own weight. Draft horses can on average pull twice their weight.
A Belgian horse typically pulls with a partner. Belgian horses arecapable of pulling 4 times their own weight in dead-weight.
In Horse Breeds
Belgian horses are among the strongest work horse breeds in theworld. A single Belgian horse can pull up 8,500 pounds over a shortdistance.
There is no real explanation for this, but two horses harnessed together will always be able to pull more weight. Typically a draft horse can pull it's own weight and up to tw…ice it's own weight on it's own. So for a 2000 pound draft that's 2000 to 4000 pounds that it can pull on it's own. Harness two horses together and they can pull 4,000 to 8,000 pounds.
Well it depends on the breed. If you have a draft horse such as a belgian, or a shire they can pull up to three (3) times their own weight! Other horses I'm not so sure....
