If you're talking about a growing puppy, feed them liberally because they grow up fast, and I mean fast! Especially is they're German German Shepherds as opposed to American German Shepherds which are smaller. Once they reach their full growth -my two dogs got to this point at 2 1/2 years old- they should eat twice a day, two cups of food each if they're fixed, three if they're not. Also, I include in one of their meals an egg, some milk, cheese or yogurt, and some canned food. Try their food to be good quality because it will show in their fur and their energy level. A good way to know if food is good is to smell it; the smell should be closer to meat than to corn flakes. Good luck with your dog, start training him/her early, otherwise they will outsmart you. Water is fuel for German Shepherds, they drink a lot so have always a big container with fresh water available for your dog.

Ps if you want to make your dog extra big feed him alot a day like 3 times and lots of water and milk and walk it 4 times a day and keep him ou in a shed or somthing that's good training
Hope this helps XD

What do German Shepherds eat?

There are brands of food that are specially formulated for German Shepherds. However, these are usually filled with corn or other grains which offer very little nutrition. There are plenty of brands out there that will work just fine. With dog food, you usually get the quality you pay for. Staying away from foods that have a lot of cereals and other grain in would be best. Pick a food that has a high meat content. I have five German Shepherds and I feed my dogs Canidae which has more than enough fat and protein for them. A puppy or a pregnant/lactating needs to have a food that is at least 17% fat and 28% protein. There are also many people who feed their dogs strictly a raw diet which consists of meat, bones, organs and sometimes with a small amount of vegetables, fruits and vitamins. While there are people who do a mix of kibble and raw. It is up to you how you feed your dog. But the bottom line is do your homework and feed them a quality food.

How much potassium should you eat daily?

The average adult should have a minimum of 2000mg-3000mg of potassium per day. This can be achieved through the natural consumption of certain kinds of foods, particularly fruits and vegetables. There are circumstances where potassium is readily lost and needs to be replenished in excess of the minimum daily amount listed above. The number is smaller for children and infants. Anyone with concerns of potassium deficiency, due to food allergies or special dietary requirements, where natural sources for potassium are precluded; should consult a doctor about the exact dosage they need to supplement each day. Potassium is essential for muscle health, particularly the heart. A deficiency, among other things, can cause muscle cramping and in extreme cases, can cause death. People on "low carb diets" will find they need to take special care to get the proper amount of potassium each day, as potassium is used in the ketosis process to diffuse byproduct chemicals left in the bloodstream; therefore additional potassium is needed regularly to replenish the body's potassium stores. Potassium is diffused by the kidneys, through sweat, urine or other bodily excretions. In this manner, excess potassium is removed from the body through urination and sweating. Barring kidney trouble, it is difficult to actually overdose on potassium, but not impossible. People should consume more potassium after intense sweating, if your diet is high in salt or in case of abnormal or extraordinary bodily excretions (such as vomiting or diarrhea) as these will result in a loss of potassium in the excreted bodily fluids. Supplemental potassium can also be needed if you are on certain kinds of heart medicine. Muscle cramps are typically a sign of one being low in potassium.

Make sure he/she has a bowl of water in the crate too. Your dog will come to love his or her crate as its private place plus this is an excellent way to housebreak your dog too. There are so many variables I can not give you absolute answer. First: Shelties vary a lot in size. The breed "standard" calls for a range of 13 inches to 16 inches at the shoulder. That is a big difference in itself, and then considering they can often range from 12 inches to 18 inches. So, size is a factor. Secondly: just as people, each dog varies in their metabolism. Thirdly: activity level. Fourthly: the brand of dog food. The best gauge to determine if the amount you are feeding your dog is his body. Look at him and feel him. You want to "just" be able to feel his ribs and his hips. But you don't want the bones protruding. A good quality food, first listed ingredient "meat". What should a 3 months old German shepherd eat?

Well I think this varies, but my puppy who was 3 months old ate beef and NO chicken, because it caused him diarrhea. Potatoes are good, turkey also works. You should try the puppy on a grain-free diet, that works best. Many natural ingredient food brands are good, like Nature's Variety. I had my puppy on Nature's Variety. Don't forget to give your puppy a bit of diversity and variety in his or her food, they can't just eat the same flavors for forever. Don't transition from one food to another kind very drastically, though. If you are switching, first put 25% of the new food in with the old, then 50%, then 75%, then 100%. If you switch all at once, it can cause diarrhea. Hope that helps and good luck!
