If your kitten will not eat dry food and only eat wet food what should you do?

Quite simply: Just feed the kitten wet food! If your lifestyle allows, feed just wet food several times a day, or purchase a food bowl/storer that is on a timer. Most of these can keep the food fresh and cool. Kittens and cats are strict carnivores. They get all their nutritional needs from meat. Kittens in particular, need a lot of Protein and Fat in order to grow and develop in a healthy manner. The best cat foods are the ones with a very high meat content (labeled as Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, etc.) as the FIRST ingredient with no grains, wheat, or corn. Foods that are free of grains, corns, and wheat gluten are highly recommended as these are cheap "filler" that bulk up foods - but have no nutritional value for your kitten. Wet food with these specifications are much easier to find than in dry food. A lot of dry foods have a very high amount of grains and cereals in. Dry food contains no moisture, so is quite dehydrating. Cats are notoriously bad drinkers, even when they are thirsty. This is because they have evolved to get all their needed moisture from their prey (their ancestors were cats that lived in very dry and arid environments where water was hard to come by). It is a trait that has been passed down over the thousands of years. Canned or pouched food has anywhere between 60 to 80% water. Seeing as in the wild a cat's prey is around 70% water, wet food provides a cat with more than enough water each day. However, if you feel you must get your kitten to eat some dry food, try mixing a little wet food in the dry and decreasing the amount of mix wet food over time.

How much fat should you eat daily?

The total amount of calories from fat should make up around 30% of your diet. Each gram of fat contains 9kcals. So for example, If you were consuming 1500kcals a day then 30% percent of those calories should be fat. Calculations: 1500kcals / 100 X 30 = 450kcals 450kcals / 9 = 50 grams So a person consuming 1500kcals a day should consume around 50 grams of fat per day. This does not mean to say all these calories should be saturated fats (bad fats). These calories should be consume with unsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (good fats) as well. For an average person on a 2000 calorie diet, 20g should be the minimum intake of overall fats, with a maximum of 60g. No one should consume over 20g of saturated fats, and trans fats should be avoided completely.

How much should crf cat eat daily?

A cat should eat enough calories to satisfy its metabolic needs - this is based upon age, weight and exercise level. For a typical 10# adult cat, approximately 1 cup of dry kibble or 2-3 cans of cat food (the larger size, not the Fancy Feast size) should be adequate. A cat with chronic renal failure (crf) should modify the diet to decrease the protein and sodium content but the calorie count should remain consistent (unless the cat also needs to lose weight). There are several prescription diets available from your veterinarian that have been specifically formulated for cats with renal disease - they are more expensive, but they are also the best dietary option for cats with low kidney function.

How much should a cat eat?

Depends really on what type of cat it is. Smaller, lighter cats will naturally eat less, whereas a bigger or bulky cat will eat more. That said, a cat will eat far more if fed a lower quality food to get the nutrition it needs, and less if fed a premium quality food. The best way to find out how much you should feed your own cat is to keep an eye on his or her weight. Do cats eat wet food?

Yes! In fact, wet food is far better for your cats than dry food. Good quality wet food is high in Protein and Fat, and because cats are strict carnivores, they use these two nutrients as their primary source of energy. Moisture is an essential factor as cats are designed to get their moisture from their food (a trait that has been passed down from their wild ancestors), and therefore have a low "thirst drive" and will not often seek out water on their own. Canned or pouched food has anywhere between 60 to 80% water. Seeing as in the wild a cat's prey is around 65%-75% water, wet and raw food provides a cat with more than enough water each day. Dry foods in comparison have 0% - 10% moisture. It is advisable to stay away from brands that include Corn, Wheat, Cereals, Soy and various Sugars in their foods - cats have difficulty in digesting these and do not provide any nutritional value to the cat whatsoever. Wet food with these specifications are much easier to find than in dry food.

How much potassium should you eat daily?

The average adult should have a minimum of 2000mg-3000mg of potassium per day. This can be achieved through the natural consumption of certain kinds of foods, particularly fruits and vegetables. There are circumstances where potassium is readily lost and needs to be replenished in excess of the minimum daily amount listed above. The number is smaller for children and infants. Anyone with concerns of potassium deficiency, due to food allergies or special dietary requirements, where natural sources for potassium are precluded; should consult a doctor about the exact dosage they need to supplement each day. Potassium is essential for muscle health, particularly the heart. A deficiency, among other things, can cause muscle cramping and in extreme cases, can cause death. People on "low carb diets" will find they need to take special care to get the proper amount of potassium each day, as potassium is used in the ketosis process to diffuse byproduct chemicals left in the bloodstream; therefore additional potassium is needed regularly to replenish the body's potassium stores. Potassium is diffused by the kidneys, through sweat, urine or other bodily excretions. In this manner, excess potassium is removed from the body through urination and sweating. Barring kidney trouble, it is difficult to actually overdose on potassium, but not impossible. People should consume more potassium after intense sweating, if your diet is high in salt or in case of abnormal or extraordinary bodily excretions (such as vomiting or diarrhea) as these will result in a loss of potassium in the excreted bodily fluids. Supplemental potassium can also be needed if you are on certain kinds of heart medicine. Muscle cramps are typically a sign of one being low in potassium.

If you're talking about a growing puppy, feed them liberallybecause they grow up fast, and I mean fast! Once they reach their full growth -my two dogsgot to this point at 2 1/2 years old- they should eat twice a day,two cups of food each if they're fixed, three if they're not. Also,I include in one of their meals an egg, some milk, cheese oryogurt, and some canned food. Try their food to be good qualitybecause it will show in their fur and their energy level. A goodway to know if food is good is to smell it; the smell should becloser to meat than to corn flakes. Good luck with your dog, starttraining him/her early, otherwise they will outsmart you. Water isfuel for German Shepherds, they drink a lot so have always a bigcontainer with fresh water available for your dog. Ps if you want to make your dog extra big feed him alot a day like3 times and lots of water and milk and walk it 4 times a day andkeep him ou in a shed or somthing that's good training . How much tin food should a cat have?

The general rule is one 5.5 ounce can per day, per cat. The can should be divided into two feedings: half a can for the morning feeding, and the other half for the evening feeding. Your cat may need more food than that, so it would be a great idea to give him some dry food to snack on between meals. Innova/Evo brand dry food is the best dry food, in my opinion. It is a high-quality, grain-free dry food, and it makes their coats super-shiny and soft. . Also, if you can afford it, it would be a good idea to give your cat high-quality wet food as well. Most supermarket brands -- such as Purina, Friskies, Whiskas, Fancy Feast, Tender Vittles, etc., etc. -- are made with extremely low-quality "meat." It is actually really disgusting. These brands are made with all the leftover animal parts, including ground-up chicken beaks and feet, cow eyeballs, intestines, and something called "Animal Digest." Animal digest is essentially a mishmash of leftover parts; it can include rats, roadkill animals, and animals that were euthanized at animal shelters -- including dogs and cats. That's right, cats. These brands also include something called "ash," which is burnt animal remains. It is absolutely revolting. . Luckily, there are better foods available, made with high-quality meat that is fit for human consumption. They are more expensive than supermarket brands -- up to $2 a can -- but they will keep your cat healthy, and will add years to his life. It is well worth the money to keep your beloved pet healthy and happy. And in fact, you will most likely save money in the long run: since better cat food means a healthier cat, you will save hundreds, even thousands of dollars on veterinary bills. . High-quality cat food brands are sold at most pet stores, including Petco, Pet Stop, and petnetdirect.com. Some high-quality brand names include: Innova/Evo, Weruva, Max Cat, PetGuard, California Natural, Instinct, Prairie, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, Merrick, Wellness, Eagle Pack, Newman's Own, WYSONG, Precise, etc., etc. . If you really cannot afford to buy this food for your cats, then Iams brand is an acceptable second-choice. Iams is a supermarket brand, but it is of a higher quality than most supermarket brands. It's not as good as Innova/Evo, Weruva, Max Cat, etc., etc., but it is better than the other supermarket brands.

How can you get your cat to eat wet food?

Slowly start to mix the wet food in with the dry - a little bit at a time. Every day or couple of days, decrease the amount of dry and increase the wet. Some cats are picky so this may take some time - but its worth it! You can even crumble a treat or two into the wet to entice your cat to eat if he/she is being stubborn.

How much food should a shetland sheepdog eat daily?

There are so many variables I can not give you absolute answer. First: Shelties vary a lot in size. The breed "standard" calls for a range of 13 inches to 16 inches at the shoulder. That is a big difference in itself, and then considering they can often range from 12 inches to 18 inches. So, size is a factor. Secondly: just as people, each dog varies in their metabolism. Thirdly: activity level. Fourthly: the brand of dog food. The best gauge to determine if the amount you are feeding your dog is his body. Look at him and feel him. You want to "just" be able to feel his ribs and his hips. But you don't want the bones protruding. A good quality food, first listed ingredient "meat". Some decent kibble is Innova, Canidae, Premium Choice, Natural Balance, Wellness, Eagle Pack. There are many others on the market more recently as well. For a "larger" Sheltie, I would start around 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the eve. See how he does, and vary from there.

Should you feed your cat wet food in the evening?

Should cats eat dry food?

Compared to a premium wet food or raw food diet, no. Although, a high quality dry food which is free of grains such as Orijen, Felidae and Applaws are far better than lower-quality dry foods. Unfortunately many, many dry cat food brands are not very good for the cat in the way of nutrition; dry foods and low-quality wet foods are often packed with carbohydrates - "filler" in the way of corns and grains, none of which cats can digest. Grain is used instead of meat because it is cheaper to produce and helps the kibble pieces hold together. So much difficultly digestible carbohydrates can cause a cat to vomit or have loose stool, or it is simply stored as fat. Some obese cats have gotten that way because of low-quality dry food. A good quality wet food (high in Meat content and grain free such as Felidae, Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Eagle Pack etc.) is far better for a cat as far as nutrition is concerned. Cats are strict carnivores, so get all their energy from Protein and Fat which is abundant in meat. Premium wet foods contain quality meat sources and no grain. Another thing wet food has an advantage has over dry food is the moisture content. Dry food contains no moisture, so is quite dehydrating. Cats are notoriously bad drinkers, even when they are thirsty. This is because they have evolved to get all their needed moisture from their prey (their ancestors were cats that lived in very dry and arid environments where water was hard to come by), so therefore have a low "thirst drive" and will not often seek out water on their own. This is a trait that has been passed down over the thousands of years. Canned or pouched food has anywhere between 60 to 80% water. Seeing as in the wild a cat's prey is around 65%-75% water, wet food provides a cat with more than enough water each day. Many dry foods and low-quality wet foods are often packed with carbohydrates - "filler" in the way of grains and cereals, none of which cats can digest or gain any nutrients from. Grain is used instead of meat because it is cheaper to produce and helps kibble pieces hold together. Cats need MEAT based protein, not PLANT based protein. Lastly, it is not proven that dry food cleans a cat's teeth. Kibble is hard and brittle, so shatters at the tips of the teeth - providing little or no cleaning friction. Dental issues usually start under or around the gumline, so kibble is usually ineffective. Some cats don't even chew; they will just swallow the kibble whole. However, some cats will have perfect teeth no matter what food they eat, while others will not benefit at all. To clean a cat's teeth effectively, you could brush your cat's teeth with a pet toothbrush and paste, or serve pieces of raw chicken. Chewing raw meat uses the whole tooth and massages the gums and is said to be the most effective way of keeping good dental health. All in all, you could feed both wet and dry, but dry food only really serves as a convenience to us, and provides very little for your cat. There are some decent dry foods out there that are free of grains and have a good meat source, but even that will never compare to the nutrition of canned food.

Your cat probably likes the dry food more so your cat is most likely to eat the dry so if you put less dry and two or three treats into the wet food he will smell his treats and go to the wet food and when he eats all the dry food he will have no choice but to eat the wet. If this does not help with in three days then take him to the local vet.

Should you use wet food or dry food on your cat?

It depends. I use both. I put dry food in my cats bowl and in the morning I give her a scoop of wet food. Then we she gets hungry later in the day she can eat the pellets out of her bowl and what she didn't eat in her bowl that morning. No more wet food until the next day!
